Faye Alston, who currently works for facilities at UNC-Chapel Hill, is one of many who have struggled to receive their GED with the help of Literacy Programs. Many of these programs (like The Durham Literacy Center where Faye had studied) have lost large portions of their funding over the past year. Here, Faye checks available classes for next semester at Durham Technical Community College. She is currently studying for an online degree, and is undecided between Business Administration and Early Childhood Education. According to Faye, her daughter, Precious, is her reason to continue persevering for her eduction.

Her scans would be used for comparative purposes, to analyze the differences between healthy and unhealthy brains. However, a mass was found in her scans. She was instructed to seek immediate consultation and treatment. She has since made a full recovery thanks to her willingness to participate in her own clinical research. Hailey Orgass received a suboccipital craniotomy for the resection of a benign cerebellar tumor called an epidermoid cyst. The cyst was aproximately the size of a tangerine. Much of the hair near the operation site has already begun to grow back, almost covering the two-and-a-half inch scar left from the incision.

Two weeks after the operation, Hailey was cleared to start walking and taking small trips around town. She has since split her recovery time between walking through East Rock Park, visiting art museums and coffee shops, and napping. Atticus Bookstore

Two weeks after the operation, Hailey was cleared to start walking and taking small trips around town. She has since split her recovery time between walking through East Rock Park, visiting art museums and coffee shops, and napping. Atticus Bookstore Cafe, where she is currently seen holding a cup of coffee, is one of her favorite coffee shops. Because of its adjoined bookstore, she can enjoy her coffee while she reads.
